So that was what happened.
I had no idea. I was indeed surprised, but I didn’t have time to care about this now.
“Okay, leave it to me.”
As soon as I walked out of the ward, I called Melany immediately
“Melany, can you come to Roz Central Hospital now? There’s a patient who needs your help! It’s urgent!”
“Roz Central hospital? Isn’t Brian there?” Melany asked in confusion.
I doubted I could explain it over the phone, so I could only say, “He can’t do it alone. He needs your help-I need your help. Please!”
It was a matter of life and death, so she didn’t ask any more questions.
As soon as Melany arrived, I begged tearfully, “Melany, please help us
Caleb has been poisoned!”

Debra’s POV:
Since Melany had been working for Harlan, she knew where Caleb stood in this whole selling-the-town situation.
Therefore, compared with me, whose emotions were so distraught now, she was much more calm and objective.
Looking at the unconscious man in bed, she asked calmly, “You asked me to come here just to save Caleb?”
“Yes, it’s my fault he got poisoned.”
I lowered my head shamefully.
In a sense, I was taking advantage of Melany. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have come in the first place.
I felt ashamed, but I had no other choice. I had to do what I did-for
Caleb.
After a moment of silence, Melany squinted and looked me up and down.
“This is more than that, right? He’s your mate, isn’t he?”
“Yes,” I answered honestly.
Her expression became complicated. With pursed Lips, she asked gravely,
“If I saved him, wouldn’t I be giving him another chance to harm Roz
Town and the people here?”
